Several scientists associated to WCRP are the recipients of the 2013 American Geophysical Union (AGU) awards, medals, prizes and class of fellows. Sonia Seneviratne (affiliated with GEWEX), Soroosh Sorooshian (JSC Member and former chair of GEWEX) and Kevin Trenberth (GEWEX chair and former JSC member) have been recognized for their breakthrough achievements in advancing Earth and space science and their outstanding contributions and service to the scientific community.
