The My Climate Risk Education Working Group (MCR-EWG) is a forum for MCR members to discuss and disseminate learnings from our engagement with communities on the ground in hubs around the world. This work is relevant to our own education as well as climate education for future climate scientists and the general public. Our current project is based on our first event, a 2-part webinar series entitled "Can we do better? Climate Science and Colonialism" which was held in October 2023, featuring 8 international scholars. We have been collaborating with two MCR hubs (Himalayan University Consortium since early 2024 and the Walker Institute more recently) to develop the webinar recordings toward an online Educator's Guide on the intersection of climate science and colonialism. We have now completed preliminary work for the first of seven modules and expect to be piloting the initial version in 2025.
