The IPCC invites nominations for Expert Reviewers for two Special Reports' Second Order Drafts: both the "IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Land" and "IPCC Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere" will be open to government and expert review between November 2018 and January 2019.
The two Special Reports had undergone review of their First Order Drafts earlier this year and were subsequently revised to take into account the comments received. In a second review phase, the Second Order Drafts will now simultaneously be reviewed by governments and experts. Reviewers should hold expertise in one or several of the reports' focus areas.
For the "IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Land: An IPCC Special Report on climate change, desertification, land degradation, sustainable land management, food security, and greenhouse gas fluxes in terrestrial ecosystems", review will take place from 19 November 2018 to 14 January 2019. Expert registration is available at https://apps.ipcc.ch/comments/srccl/sod/register.php and will close one week before the end of the review period. Additional information on the role of expert reviewers is available at http://www.ipcc.ch/report/sr2/pdf/SRCCL_SOD_ExpertReviewer.pdf .
For the "IPCC Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate", review will take place from 16 November 2018 to 11 January 2019. Expert registration is available at https://apps.ipcc.ch/comments/srocc/sod/register.php and will close one week before the end of the review period. Additional information on the role of expert reviewers is available at http://www.ipcc.ch/report/srocc/pdf/SROCC_ExpertReview_InformationNote.pdf .
The official press release for the review of both Second Order Drafts can be accessed on the IPCC home page. All experts who either commented on the First Order Draft or had been nominated for a role in these Special Reports but not selected will be contacted by the IPCC Secretariat.
