Lora Batino joined the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) in November 2024 as a Science Intern (remote) within the Science and Innovation Department. She supports the WCRP Academy support unit based in Manila Observatory, Philippines. She has previously assisted in conducting climate training stocktake surveys and interviews for the Academy, drafting summary reports, and contributing to the climate science training database. Lora completed her master’s degree in Geography at the University of the Philippines, where she studied community-based resource management practices and environmental policy to identify the sustainability of local-led conservation activities. She works closely with communities, the academe, and national agencies to implement capacity-building projects in the Philippines. She is interested in exploring the intersection of climate risk, climate policy, and adaptation practices of communities at risk in the Global South. In her free time, Lora enjoys traveling and volunteering.
